Happy Father's Day!!!

The sun's setting right now behind dark rain clouds. We've had some thunder and lightening today, which is unusual for Tacoma.

Jason's begun testing for the Tacoma Police Department. On Friday he scored a perfect 200 on the physical exam, and yesterday he took the written - and he's certain he nailed it. This is a 4-6 month, 8 step process so we won't know for awhile whether he's accepted. The truth is, he's still trying to decide if this is even something he wants to do. We'll keep y'all posted as things develop.

Things are good at work. There are big things happening that I can't talk about, but when I'm free to do so I'll let you all in on some news...

It's been a great weekend. Friday after work (and Jason's physical exam), we headed out to the Harvester for dinner. It's a diner next door to Stadium High School (I posted about it earlier - Jason went there for 3 years, and it was featured in the movie "Ten Things I Hate About You"), overlooking the water. After dinner, we drove towards home and stopped at the Pour at Four - our favorite wine bar. It was a nice, relaxing evening.

We had a great day yesterday. After his written exam, Jason came home and we headed out for a bit of lunch. We ended up in Puyallup at the only Sonic anywhere near here. It's so popular, people often have to wait in line just to get a spot! There's a gravel parking lot, a lot like at the West Texas Fair & Rodeo, with aisles for park & wait customers. Anyway, after lunch we ended up at the mall, where I got my highlights touched up and we found some great new sunglasses for Jason. We drove back north, had dinner at a nearby Mexican restaurant, and then headed home to watch "Man on Fire."

This morning we had breakfast with Jason's dad, then came home and called my folks. He ran over to Lowes and installed a neat light in our armoire/wet bar. Looks great now that the sun's gone down.

Right now, the laundry's tumbling in the dryer and we have "The Dark Knight" on tv. The windows are open and rain's falling; the sky turning a purplish gray.

I guess I ought to check the work email and start turning in. Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there - especially mine!
