In Like a Lion

I'm back home in Tacoma now, after a whirlwind trip home for Brittany's wedding (see how I refer to Tacoma AND Texas as "home?" Funny.). I always wish I could spend more time with the family, but we had a great time during the 2 days I was there.

Her wedding, by the way, was amazing! She was the picture of perfection - the dress, the hair, everything. My favorite part of the night was the intro to their reception video - Scott (her dad) reenacting the first scene of "Father of the Bride." You know, the speech where he talks about losing his little girl? Wow. Scott, you nailed it! And the "circle of trust" bit at the end was hilarious.

I spent Sunday with Mom, Dad, Courtney, Clint, EG and his mom. I love that I have the kind of family that can spend hours talking in the living room without needing TV, a movie, or a board game as a distraction all the time. It's awesome just talking about family news or old stories. Living up here, sometimes I just miss the sound of everyone's voice; it's nice to lay on the couch surrounded by the conversation.

As for things up north, life is good. I woke up this morning to snow. Quite a difference from the 80 degree Texas weather! Ah, well. Hopefully March will go out like a lamb this year and we won't have to wait until May or June for some warm days. I've got a little space heater purring under my desk and a warm caramel latte from Panera Bread. Life could be much worse!

When I got home last night, I got to see our new hardwood floors for the first time - FANTASTIC!!! I can't believe how good it looks. I can hardly remember the carpet. Jason worked his tail off all weekend getting the floors done before I got home. Bless his heart. Once the new floorboards go in, I'll post a coupla pictures. Words don't do it justice; what an improvement.

I should get back to work on this postage analysis and marketplace report. It's already 1:15 and I have a ton and a half left to do.

Sounds fun, right? :)
